First Away Win - Birchgrove

September 23rd, 2007 by ColinD Posted in Club News, Game Results | 1 Comment »

We played Birchgrove on Saturday and we came out 25-15 winners.

This was the first away win this season, and if you look at past results we have always found it tough up in Birchgrove.  This was no different Saturday.  What made the win more pleaseing was the fact we were twice reduced to 14 men and still managed to keep a grip on the game.

Ryan ‘Llewi’ Edwards was spot on with his place kicking. knocking over 6 penalty kicks and converting Phil Griffiths try.

Birchgrove got 2 tries 1 conversion and 1 penalty.

Bryan Downey was named man of the match.  This was an excellent performance and i think the boys should be proud.

Later that night we all went out to Swansea to celebrate Bryan Downey’s last 2 weeks of freedom before he and NIa tie the knot, and i think everyone had a good night, by the way has anyone seen Bryan?

Front rowers tolerate this attitude far and wide because they recognize their role at the top of the food chain and are used to suffering the fools that surround them. Accused by some of simply being dumb, I prefer to think of this group as “open to unconventional ways of thinking.” Read the rest of this entry »

1. Thou shalt not hesitate at the breakdown, but be mighty to get your
rightful ball; for though it is written that the meek shall inherit the
earth, this truly was a poor translation. The meek shall be trampled
into the dirt is more to the point. Read the rest of this entry »

Jack Nicholson’s courtroom speech in A Few Good Men…

A Props Testimony to a Back

Son, in this world there are scrums. And in those scrums you need props. Are
you willing to do it? As a prop, I have more responsibility than you can
ever fathom. Read the rest of this entry »
